Log Out Users in OS X

From: Steve

In OS X, is there any way to make the system log out after a certain amount of time when the computer is unattended, or do you have to manually log out every time?

To my knowledge, you can't make the Mac return to the log in screen after a specified time, but you can do something pretty close: You can set up the screen saver (in System Preferences) to require a name and password to unlock the screen saver once it has kicked in. That way, you can specify that the current activity is hidden from sight after, say, 10 minutes.
